He’ll soon be a free man. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is less than a week away from being released after serving an 8-month prison sentence on tax evasion charges. The MTV alum will be discharged from Otisville Federal Correctional Institution on September 12, and we’ve got details about his final days behind bars. Mike has a few things to complete, but it won’t be long until he’s reunited with his wife, Lauren Sorrentino (née Pesce), and his costars! Scroll through the gallery for details.

He’s probably counting down the minutes! Mike, 37, is almost done serving time for tax evasion. Looking ahead, the reality star will have to complete release paperwork before his scheduled departure time.

Mike will also have to change clothing and go through an identification process, according to a new report from Radar on Friday, September 6.

“Inmates are to be positively identified before their release by photo comparison and verbal questioning of the inmate,” the Receiving and Discharge Manual states.

Inside the Process

“Verbal questioning will include name, date of birth, register number, questions pertaining to sentencing data, family background, information from the Pre-Sentencing Report and more. Sorrentino will also have a right thumbprint taken.”

End of Sentence

Upon his exit, the MTV alum will reportedly be given personal funds. A second identification verification is then conducted by a person the Warden designates. The person will ultimately sign “the Release Authorization.”

Luckily, the whole process “doesn’t take long,” so Mike can look forward to seeing his loved ones soon. He previously checked into the establishment back in January 2019.
