Despite all the hype around Lindsay Lohan’s comeback and TV show, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, it was a major flop. Dad Michael Lohan spilled a little tea to In Touch and other reporters about the behind-the-scenes drama at the Victoria’s Voice event presented by the Victoria Siegel Foundation and Greenspoon Marder LLP at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

“Try to be an American collecting money from Greek business owners,” Michael, 59, said on Friday, October 25. “There was a whole business thing going on there with the partners in the club. People weren’t paying her what she was supposed to get,” he explained.

Michael also shed light on the rough-and-tumble crowd, adding, “They have their own mafia so to speak and you’re not getting the money.” After the 33-year-old abandoned her once-thriving club, it looks like she followed her father’s advice. “So you know what, you cut your ties and you cut your losses and you leave,” he said.

Lindsay opened her beach club in May 2018 and her TV show premiered that following January. We later learned that her MTV production would not be returning for a second season in June. After the program was canceled, people noticed that the nightclub also had sealed its doors.

Although the series featured those who work the nightlife scene under their boss Lindsay, there just wasn’t “enough drama,” a source told Page Six. “They wanted ‘breakdowns.’ That’s not where [Lindsay] is at with her life anymore. Their personal business doesn’t need to be aired on television; it’s already in the papers anyway.”

The outlet also confirmed the beach club’s phone numbers are disconnected and those who had reservations received cancelation calls stating, “They will not be opening this season.”

It’s no surprise the actress doesn’t want her dirty laundry in the public eye. For most of her 20s, Lindsay was labeled as a party girl and was constantly in the tabloids for her run-ins with the law. She admitted that she had to take a step back from all the media attention. “People judge me every second. It’s so easy to keep going, going, going, but sometimes you have to stop. So I disappeared,” she said in episode 1 of Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club. It’s unfortunate her show didn’t pan out, but we’re happy to see her on our feeds once again.
