Uh oh, more family drama for Meghan Markle! On Friday, January 12, the Duchess of Sussex’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., was arrested for driving under the influence, In Touch can confirm. The 52-year-old was pulled over by the Oregon State Police and was visibly intoxicated. “We arrested a Thomas Lane Markle Jr. about 1:30 a.m. on highway 238, down in Josephine county. His BAC .11 percent. .08 is the legal limit,” Captain Tim Fox told Radar Online. It’s no surprise that he got into trouble with the law, as he was previously arrested in January 2017 for domestic violence.

Both Thomas Jr. and his father, Thomas Sr., are estranged from Meghan, and neither is afraid to talk about her in the press. Prior to her May 2018 wedding, Thomas Jr. sent Prince Harry a handwritten note, exclusively obtained by In Touch, explaining to him that it’s “not too late” to get out of marrying his sister.

“As more time passes to your royal wedding, it became very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history,” he confessed. “Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you.” He also wrote that the mom-to-be is a “jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage.” Sounds like one big happy family, right?

In October 2018, Thomas also opened up about his father’s sketchy past. In an exclusive interview with In Touch, he revealed that his dad would go to Thailand when he was younger and brag that he would pay for sex, all while he was still married to Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland. “We were on the subject to talking about women,” Thomas Jr. revealed. “He says, ‘You can get two women for the weekend for 50 bucks. The things they will do to you are incredible. You’ll be a changed man.’”

He also noted that the fights Thomas Sr. had with Doria were “pretty atrocious at times.” He added, “I didn’t really want to listen to it. I pretty much blocked it out. Especially with Meghan in the house. I didn’t really want to be there.”

It sounds like Tom hasn’t had the picture-perfect family life, so here’s hoping that he can get himself together — without drinking and driving.
