It’s been just two months since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said ‘I do,’ but the new Duchess of Sussex is already struggling with royal life. The former Suits actress has been criticized for everything from her style choices to the way she crosses her legs and how she wears her hair. Most recently, she received backlash for attempting to hold her husband’s hand in public. Now, royal sources tell Life & Style that her health is deteriorating as a result.

“Her rings are slipping from her hands and her hair is thinning,” an insider told us. “She loves Harry, but when it comes to life as a royal, she’s lately been asking herself, ‘How will I get through this?'”

To make matters worse, the 36-year-old is dealing with attacks from her family. Not only was her father, Thomas Markle, 74, caught making a deal with paparazzi, but her half-sister, Samantha Grant, recently tweeted that because Meghan has ignored her father’s pleas to reconnect, “If [he] dies, I’m holding you responsible, Meg!”

While Harry’s new wife puts on a false front during appearances, she breaks down when no one’s watching. “She’s never felt so alone,” the insider revealed, “She’s all smiles at events, but behind Kensington Palace doors, it’s a completely different story. Meghan has been in tears.”

Having social media is against royal rules, and the once avid blogger can no longer talk to her fans. That said, she does have her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, to lean on. The two had a girls-only trip to Wimbledon on July 14, and “Kate’s let Meghan know she’s there for her.”

Right now, she needs all the support she can get. “No matter how hard Meghan tries,” the source said, “she feels like she can’t do anything right.”
