The wait is over, Friends fans. Matthew Perry officially joined Instagram after teasing “big news” on his Twitter account, and fans are absolutely losing their minds.

Matthew’s former sitcom costar Lisa Kudrow shared the good news on February 6 via her own Instagram post. “Finally!!! Yay!! Can’t believe my eyes MY EYES,” she captioned a throwback photo of the two of them together. “Welcome to Instagram @mattyperry4 #friendsforlife.”

By midday on Thursday, Matthew, 50, had not made any posts on his brand spanking new Instagram account. But people were beyond elated over on Lisa’s post. “FINALLY!! All the Friends are on Instagram!” one person wrote. Another person commented, “Could I BE any more excited?!” in a clear imitation of Matthew’s character on the NBC series.

The actor has had some tough times the past few years, and maybe social media is the distraction that he needs. He was seen looking disheveled on a date with a mystery woman in West Hollywood on November 4, and struggled with addiction to alcohol and prescription pills in the past.

Just a few days after the rather unflattering photos of the actor emerged, his other former costar Courteney Cox shared a photo from a lunch outing the two of them enjoyed. “Guess who I had lunch with today … I KNOW!! Could I BE any happier? #realfriends,” she wrote on the picture.

Around the same time, an insider told In Touch exclusively that Matthew’s Friends costars were “worried sick about [his] health,” and that, “Court, in particular, is extremely concerned.”

The concern likely arose from exactly how the actor behaved during his West Hollywood date. An eyewitness exclusively shared with In Touch that he “seemed really out of it” during the night out. “He was laughing, swerving and swaying,” they revealed.

The source added that the woman Matthew was with seemed to feel “sorry for him” and was seen comforting him. They claimed she was trying to talk to him about getting home and resting, and that the comedian was “very messy, sloppy. He looked like a homeless man.”

Perhaps it was his Friends costars who convinced Matthew to engage more with social media to give him something to do. Now that he’s on Instagram along with Lisa and Courteney, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, an epic reunion photo is sure to follow, right?
