Matt Lauer’s Wife Kicks Him out Following Sexual Assault Scandal

Just a few months after disgraced Today host Matt Lauer was terminated after sexual harassment allegations surfaced, it looks like his marriage is also crumbling. According to Life & Style, Matt’s estranged wife, Annette Roque, kicked him out of their house. Though she stood by her husband in the immediate aftermath of the scandal, it appears she’s reached her breaking point.

In late January, just days after his 60th birthday, they had a blowout fight. “Annette was fed up,” an insider said. “She told Matt he’d never change.” It was after that fight that Annette told Matt to pack up his things and leave. “Matt stuttered yet another apology, bowed his head, and left,” the insider revealed. Annette is home with her two younger kids, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11, while her oldest son Jack, 16, is at boarding school, and Matt is currently residing at the family’s other estate.

Eyewitnesses saw movers packing up Matt’s things as he prepared to part ways with his wife. “I saw the movers take boxes and rugs out of the main house,” one witness said. “Annette looked somber.” As Matt moves his things, Annette is contemplating what next steps to take. “[She] saw that Matt was sorry, but decided it was best to move on,” the insider said. She’s been consulting with attorneys and discussing the possibility of filing for divorce.

Their relationship has been tumultuous for years — the pair nearly divorced in 2006 — and Annette is totally fed up with Matt’s behavior. “She’d forgiven him for his affairs in the past, but she was just plain unaware of the length and breadth of his sexual misconduct,” the insider continued. “Although he’s been a good father and is trying to hang on to his children, he’s made no true attempt at getting therapy or treatment beyond reading self-help books.” We think it’s safe to say this is going to be one messy split.
