They grow up so fast! Recently, the Duggars celebrated a milestone for one of their youngest family members. Little Mason Duggar, the son of Josh and Anna Duggar, turned one, and the family posted a sweet message for his first birthday. “He’s ONE today!” Michelle Duggar shared on the family’s Facebook page on Wednesday, September 12, posting a couple pictures of one of her youngest grandchildren. “Happy birthday to our sweet grandson, Mason! You are such a darling boy! Pops and I love you very, very much!”

How cute is that? Mason has been celebrating other recent milestones, too — like finally getting to eat pancakes after his family discovered his lactose intolerance. Near the end of August, mom Anna posted a long message to Instagram about discovering her youngest son’s food sensitivities and the process they went throuhg to identify exactly what was bothering him. She even had to stop breastfeeding for a while as she worked to eliminate all of his allergens from her own diet. “Pancakes for a Saturday brunch may seem ordinary,” she wrote in a caption on the video, “but today at our house it is a big deal! It is Mason’s first time to have (dairy-free) pancakes!”

“Yup, you may have guessed it…Lil Mason has a milk protein (aka dairy) allergy,” she continued. “Allergies showed up at 2 weeks, and caused us to switch to formula while momma cut dairy and other potential allergy causing foods out of my diet (i.e. gluten, corn, soy, eggs, nuts, chicken, & nightshade foods). Thankfully as we added things back into my diet we discovered Mason was only allergic to dairy, and by January he was back to 100% nursing and thriving — reaching 20lbs at 6 months!”

Pancakes for a Saturday brunch may seem ordinary, but today at our house it is a big deal! It is Mason’s first time to have (dairy-free) pancakes! Yup, you may have guessed it…Lil Mason has a milk protein (aka dairy) allergy. Allergies showed up at 2 weeks, and caused us to switch to formula while momma cut dairy and other potential allergy causing foods out of my diet (i.e. gluten, corn, soy, eggs, nuts, chicken, & nightshade foods). Thankfully as we added things back into my diet we discovered Mason was only allergic to dairy, and by January he was back to 100% nursing and thriving — reaching 20lbs at 6 months! Sometimes in life we are faced with a mountain that seems impossible. We pray asking God to move the mountain, yet God wants us to climb it! Even though it is unexpected (and hard work) it is so worth it, God’s grace is sufficient for each step of the way! To have a mountain top experience you must first climb the mountain! So friends, whatever you’re facing today keep doing the next right thing — go take the next step! It’s totally worth it to keep going when you know you’re on the right track! P.S. Any tips for a good dairy-free pizza? 🍕😋 #littleduggars

Mason’s also been spending a lot of time with his big sister Meredith. She’s been dutifully trying to teach him to walk, even helping him to his feet and easing him back down to the ground after he takes a few steps. With her help, he’ll have mastered it all in no time. This little kid is way ahead of the curve, and we’re glad he’s got so many awesome older siblings to show him the ropes.
