Mason Disick Working on ‘Healing’ Kourtney Kardashian and Scott’s Relationship by Playing Peacemaker

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick’s eldest son, Mason Disick, has been stuck in the middle of his feuding folks for years, but he’s showing huge maturity and doing all he can to bring peace between them, a source exclusively tells In Touch.

“Mason is still living with Scott, but he’s been spending a lot of time with Kourtney again and really trying hard to get her to let Scott back into her life more,” the insider says. “The big issue between Kourtney and Scott is Travis [Barker]. It’s no secret that they don’t get along, so that puts a huge wrench in the family dynamic.”

Before getting together with now-husband Travis, 49, in October 2020, Kourtney, 45, did her best to remain on friendly terms with Scott, 41. In fact, when Scott and Sofia Richie broke up earlier in 2020, fans even thought that Kourtney might give him another shot. However, she officially put that part of her past behind her when she began building a life with Travis.

“It was a huge adjustment losing Kourtney romantically, but now it’s becoming a huge adjustment losing her as a best friend,” Scott admitted in 2022. “Now we’re really just more coparents. I’d say it’s probably one of the more difficult things in my life.”

The exes share kids Mason, 14, Penelope Disick and Reign Disick. Although Kourtney and Scott are no longer on the best terms, he has remained close with her family members, including Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian.

“Mason has been working on Scott being a little less standoffish with Travis and Scott has agreed to give him another chance, as long as it’s being reciprocated,” In Touch’s source says. “Kourtney’s got her work cut out for her with Travis because he can’t stand Scott, but if she takes a stand, he’ll come around for her sake. She has agreed to put in the effort and has also been a lot more cordial with Scott herself.”

Life & Style first reported in August that Mason had decided to move out of Kourtney’s home to live with his dad full-time. “Scott always tries to be the cool dad. The kids can have all the sugar and junk food they want [at his house] and they can stay up as late as they want and watch whatever they want,” the site’s source explained. “[He] buys them anything they ask for. It’s no surprise they all love going to his house.”

Now, Kourney “can see how well” Scott is taking care of Mason white they’re living under the same roof. “That’s scored a lot of points with her,” In Touch’s insider adds. “It’s still in progress, but a family healing does seem to be in the cards thanks to Mason’s efforts.”

Cracks in Mason’s relationship with his mom were documented on season 5 of The Kardashians, which aired over the summer. Kourtney and Travis took the kids to Australia for Blink-182’s tour, but Mason decided not to go. “He’s a teenager and he wants to be with his friends and his dad,” Kourtney explained, admitting that she was “really sad” to not have her eldest child on the trip.

The reality star and Scott were together on and off for nearly 10 years before they split in 2015.
