Mama June and Honey Boo Boo Praise Pumpkin as a Mom, But Admit “She’s a Baby Hog!” (EXCLUSIVE)
Here comes grandma Mama June Shannon and aunt Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson! In an exclusive interview with In Touch, the mother-daughter duo opened up about the newest addition to their family — Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon‘s daughter, Ella Grace.
“She’s very good. She would say that she’d never change dirty diapers but she gets down and dirty with the dirty,” June explained. The Toddlers & Tiaras alum chimed in, “It’s hard because [Pumpkin] is a baby hog. I’m just like, ‘You can go to the grocery store while Ellie stays here and I can watch her,’ and she’s like, ‘No thank you! I’ll take her.’ Pumpkin as a mom is very good. I was not expecting her to be this good as a mom.” We’re glad to hear everything is working out!
Pumpkin and her fiancé, Joshua Efird, announced in August that they were expecting their first child together. They welcomed their daughter on Dec. 8, 2017, at 5:01 a.m. In Touch also spoke with June and Alana about the upcoming second season of Mama June: From Not to Hot — which premieres Friday, Jan. 12, at 9 p.m. EST on WE tv.
“It’s a lot about our life. It reminds you a lot of the older show, about the fun, the ups and downs — it’s an emotional roller-coaster,” the newly-slim reality star teased. “Some good, some bad, some crying and just all around what y’all remember from the loving people that we were, not the documentary telling the bigger story of me losing weight. It’s everybody this season.”
Her daughter agreed, adding, “It’s a little bit of everything everyone wants wrapped into one show.” We can’t wait to watch!
