Don’t question her judgment. Kate Plus 8 alum Mady Gosselin clapped back at her haters about wearing a face mask after she posted a stylish selfie in a public bathroom on Monday, August 31.

“Normalize the public bathroom selfie,” the college student, 18, captioned the photo shared to Instagram highlighting her edgy style. As Mady posed without a face covering, several fans called out the beauty for not taking proper precautions amid the coronavirus pandemic. In an edit to her caption, she assured her followers she prioritizes health and safety.

“Edit: for all the mask comments: I’m absolutely wearing a mask (it’s hanging from my ear behind my phone) but I took it off for 10 seconds in an empty bathroom when no one was around,” she wrote with a smiley face.

This isn’t the first time the reality TV alum has put trolls in their place. On August 9, the brunette shared a TikTok video with the song “Bulletproof” by La Roux playing in the background. “You think you can hurt my feelings??” she wrote at the top of the clip. “Grown adults on the internet have thought it’s their business to comment on every facet of my personality, appearance and life choices since I was a kid,” she added. “You can’t say something I haven’t heard.”

Mady is definitely foraging her own path now that she is in her second year at college. Since flying the coop, the teenager has been finding her own voice and the distance has actually been good for her relationship with mother Kate Gosselin.

“Kate and Mady are on a lot better terms. Going away to college has actually made them closer. They love each other, but Mady wouldn’t mind if her mom didn’t comment on her social media posts, only because she wants her own identity,” an insider exclusively told In Touch in December 2019. “She doesn’t want to be associated with the reality show and her parent’s drama.”

With her fashion sense and sassy clapbacks, Mady is definitely on her way to self-discovery.
