Here’s Why Maci Bookout “Felt Better” When Ex Ryan Edwards Was in Prison
Can we all just give Maci Bookout a round of applause for always being the bigger person? The Teen Mom OG star has always dealt with her baby daddy and ex Ryan Edwards‘ scandals with class, and her reaction to his most recent arrest was no different.
Maci opened up for the first time about Ryan’s probation violation arrest in TN on Kailyn Lowry‘s Coffee Convos podcast on Aug. 9, and she had a surprising reaction to the news. “I feel better that he is in jail because I know he’s safe there, if that makes sense,” said Maci, on the podcast, which was presumably recorded back when Ryan was in jail. The charges have since been dismissed and he was released after one week. “I know he’s not driving around. He’s not doing something that could potentially hurt him or an innocent person. So it sucks, crappy situation for everyone.”
Maci went on to explain that she “has no idea what state he’s in because he’s not allowed to be around any of us. He’s not allowed to contact us or anything like that. But I mean, he did get arrested, I don’t know… I mean, I do know why, but I don’t want to say.” What a class act!
It sounds like Maci tries to handle explaining the situation to her son Bentley, who she shares with Ryan, with just as much grace. “Although Bentley’s about to be 10, I’m not sure how much time [Ryan] can make up now, but still, I mean, no one ever wants to tell their child that something terrible has happened to their parent,” she explained. “[He] understands. He doesn’t ever ask questions. We fill him in on what’s going on and as sad as it is, the reason he doesn’t ask questions is because it’s kind of just always been.” Hopefully Ryan can turn it around and become a rolemodel for his son and unborn child with Mackenzie Standifer, too.
