‘Love & Hip Hop’ Star Rah Ali Tragically Loses Child After Premature Birth at 5 Months Pregnant
Our hearts go out to her. Former Love & Hip Hop: New York star Rah Ali suffered a devastating loss over the weekend. The VH1 alum reportedly gave birth to a daughter prematurely at five months gestation on May 26, but the baby tragically passed away shortly after.
Rah, 35, was at home when her water broke unexpectedly and she started having contractions, according to a new report from PEOPLE on May 29. Soon after, the TV personality was rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save her child despite their efforts. Rah was shocked by the premature birth considering she never had any complications with her pregnancy.
She was due later this year in October and had not even announced her big news to the world yet. Rah was apparently going to reveal that she was pregnant by sharing a series of maternity photos when she was further along in June. After fans heard about the tragic loss of her child, several shared their condolences in heartfelt comments under her latest Instagram photo.
“I’m so sorry that happened. Nobody should ever go [through] what you just went through,” one wrote. “May God cover you and your family in this time. It’s easier said, but believe that God would never put you through anything you can’t handle. Praying for you and your family,” another chimed in, while a third added, “Can’t imagine what you are feeling. Sending love to you and your family.”
Rah has yet to share a statement on social media, but it seems those closest to her have heard the news. Her famous friend, Nicki Minaj, has reportedly been stepping up in the wake of her child’s death. Nicki has reportedly been doing everything in her power to be supportive, “calling, checking on Rah and trying to lift her spirits.” We’re keeping her in our thoughts during this tough time.
