‘Little Women: LA’ Star Christy McGinity’s Daughter Violet Dies After Being Born 7 Weeks Early
Our hearts go out to Christy McGinity and her boyfriend, Gonzalo Justo Carazo, following the death of their 2-week-old baby, Violet. The Little Women: LA star and her new man lost their daughter after she was born premature at only 33 weeks — seven weeks early. In a statement shared with In Touch, the parents mourned their newborn.
“It is with our deepest sorrow that we send our baby girl Violet Eva Carazo to play with the angels. We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl, and, for that, we are forever thankful. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.”

Violet was born on March 6, weighing only 3 pounds and 15 ounces. On Instagram, the parents shared a sweet photo with their little girl, and commemorated the moment they signed the birth certificate with a video. On March 13, the new father celebrated his daughter reaching the one-week milestone. “Happy 1-week-old birthday to our baby girl, Violet,” Gonzo wrote. “Thank [you] for making me a dad and bringing me an entire new perspective during your first week of life. We love you so much!”
Christy, 42, is already a mother to daughter Autumn and son Trenton. In September 2019, she broke the news that she and her boyfriend were expecting once again. “I’m so excited that we are having a baby,” she wrote on the social media site. “What a big blessing. Good things come to those who wait. Our bundle of joy is coming [in] April 2020.”

The parents were friends for 10 years before their relationship became something more. In late spring 2019, the two stars were calling each other “bestie” on Instagram, but by summer, it was clear they were majorly loved up. “We have always been dance partners, and [we’ve been] best friends in Little People of America for almost a decade,” Christy wrote on a picture of the couple in June 2019. “Best friends then, and best friends now. @gonzogrape11, I love you. XO. 😘”
Gonzo shared similar tributes to his lady. “Just wanted to tell the WORLD how appreciative I am of this woman,” he wrote on July 2019. “Christy, you’re my rock. I’ll always be your protector no matter what!” Though the parents are no doubt struggling, we’re glad they’ve got each other to lean on.
