Audrey Roloff Shares Update on Baby Ember and Reveals the Meaning Behind Her Name

They grow up so fast! It’s been two months since Little People, Big World stars Audrey Roloff and Jeremy Roloff welcomed their first daughter Ember Jean Roloff, and it seems like Jer and Auj did a great job with picking such a perfect name for their baby girl! On Friday, Nov. 10, Auj took to Instagram to share Ember’s two-month update, and she decided to give an in-depth explanation about all the ways that Ember has lived up to her name since she was born.

“Our Ember girl is 2 MONTHS OLD [sic] today and she’s already growing into her name. Embers are GLOWING — they can light up an entire room, forest or field,” the proud mommy wrote and went on to explain the ways that they are also enduring, welcoming, constant and loyal — just like her baby girl. “Embers are FORERUNNERS — in forest fires, they can blow on ahead of the fire and start fires kilometers away (l loved this one being that she’s our first child).”

Our Ember girl is 2 MONTHS OLD today and she’s already growing into her name. The dictionary defines EMBER as “a small live piece of coal wood etc in a dying fire. The remains of a fire. A glowing fragment from fire. 🔥 • Embers are GLOWING – they can light up an entire room, forest or field. 🔥 Embers are ENDURING – they are the fiercest remains of a fire and radiate a substantial amount of heat long after the fire has been extinguished. 🔥 Embers offer REVIVAL – when a fire is dying the embers can bring it back to life! 🔥 Embers are WELCOMING – they are inviting. They draw people in by their warmth and light. 🔥 Embers FLY – when they have been burning hot enough, they know when to spark and fly. 🔥 Embers are CONSTANT & LOYAL – they radiate a more constant form of heat as opposed to the fire which is constantly changing along with the heat it radiates. 🔥 Embers are FORERUNNERS – in forest fires they can blow on ahead of the fire and start fires kilometers away (l loved this one being that she’s our first child) 🔥 • We want our little Ember to be a light in the darkness, glowing in all she does, enduring and lasting – hard to stop, ALWAYS believing in the MORE that is within her – and when stoked/kindled by her Creator – able to burn and glow even MORE than she could on her own. Our prayer is that she would be MORE on fire for God as He continues to fan her into flame. Always more. #emberjean #alwaymore

While celebrating her and Jer’s three year wedding anniversary in September, Audrey explained that campfires were very important to them and their relationship, as they often would spend quality time together bonding and having conversations as they stared into the embers of the fire — which is why the name Ember has such a special meaning. “We want our little Ember to be a light in the darkness, glowing in all she does, enduring and lasting — hard to stop, ALWAYS believing in the MORE that is within her — and when stoked/kindled by her Creator – able to burn and glow even MORE than she could on her own,” Auj wrote.

The couple hinted at wanting to give their daughter an unusual name in a scene from an episode from Season 9 of the hit TLC series, where Aud and Jer sat down in their kitchen to discuss possible monikers for their little one.

“Do you have any favorite baby names?” Jeremy asked his wife as they sat down in their kitchen. “Because I don’t.”

But he did say that he would prefer to give their baby girl a “peculiar” name, but not “weird” — and his wife agreed. “Something unique,” Auj said. And it looks like that they found a unique name that really fits!
