Fans are not happy with Little People, Big World star Audrey Roloff after she said some pretty controversial things during her birth episode. TLC viewers got an inside look in the days leading up to the birth of Audrey’s eight-month-old daughter Ember Jean Roloff during this week’s episode, and the cameras also captured Audrey and her husband Jeremy Roloff‘s first two weeks as parents — but Audrey’s very specific plans for motherhood didn’t sit well with viewers.

In her confessional, Audrey explained that she had been struggling with breastfeeding her daughter and even though Ember was having a hard time gaining weight because she wasn’t eating enough, Auj admitted that she didn’t want to feed her daughter with baby formula. “We just don’t have feeding figured out yet. It just didn’t come easy for me, my body, for her,” Audrey said.

During her one week checkup, Audrey told the doctor that she had been breastfeeding Ember every hour throughout the night. Ember’s doctor said that wasn’t a good sign and that Audrey would have to supplement her breastmilk with formula because she wasn’t feeding Ember enough. “I was very adamant about breastfeeding exclusively. Formula is like a sin,” she said. “I never thought I would do that, but at the same time I need to feed my baby so we have to do it.”

It’s a very common thing for moms to shame other moms for choosing to feed their babies with formula instead of breastfeeding. The topic is pretty controversial among mothers on social media, and viewers took to Twitter to slam Audrey for saying that it was a “sin” to give a baby formula. “‘Formula is a sin,’ girl shut the f–k up,” one fan tweeted, and another wrote, “Did she say, ‘Formula was a sin?’ I want to slap her.” And one fan pointed out, “Oh Audrey, formula is not a sin. Fed baby is all that matters.”
