All Adalynn Calvert wanted for Christmas was a gun — and it looks like Santa delivered! Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert‘s little one was all smiles on Christmas morning as she held her very own 22 caliber crickett. “My baby dolls 1st 22 cal crickett…… and yes @leahdawn92mtv is aware of this….. @nationalrifleassociation @nratv @nrawomen gun safety 100% #daddiescountrygirl #muddygirlcamo #22crickett #adalynnfaith,” the Teen Mom 2 star wrote on Instagram. Unfortunately, not everyone agreed that giving a four-year-old a gun was such a good idea.

“A gun?! For a four-year-old!! No wonder there is so much gun crime in America when people are doing crazy things like this,” someone chimed in. A second responded, “Yeah this looks super safe, let’s definitely get one more kid on this planet to think guns are toys and add to the statistics of gun deaths. Way to go.” Another simply added, “Disgusting.”

Others, however, praised the 28-year-old for teaching gun control at such a young age, “A woman should be as comfortable holding a gun as she is holding a baby! Nice job, daddy!” Another added, “Omg… gun safety used to be an elementary school class! Stop freaking out people. She is safer knowing gun safety then [sic] coming across one herself. That’s how kids kill themselves. Ugh smh…” A third chimed in, “Raising her right!! Gun safety is 100% the way to go!!”

Yet this isn’t the first time Jeremy has gotten himself into hot water regarding his parenting practices. Last year, the reality star dad shared a vintage-inspired photo of Addie wearing a flapper costume while holding a shot glass and showing off a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey. Fans immediately responded to the photo with one follower commenting, “But why is it cute to have a 4-year-old hold a bottle of Jack?” Yikes. Well, you can’t please everyone, Jer!
