Yikes! Fans Are Pissed After Kim Kardashian Announces Ulta Partnership Following Mass Shooting Near Her Home
Sometimes Kim Kardashian doesn’t quite know when to keep her mouth shut. On Nov. 7, a gunman walked into the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, and killed at least 12 people. Thousand Oaks is about 40 miles from Los Angeles and the city over from where Kim lives in Calabasas.
The next day, Kim took to Twitter and Instagram to promote her new KKW Fragrance, which is coming to Ulta Beauty stores on Nov. 25. While some Twitter users were excited by the news, many were angered and accused her of being insensitive as to what just happened in the country.
One wrote, “12 people are dead this morning, Kim. And it happened a city over from your Calabasas home. Get it together.” Another one said, “I would be much more interested with the developing facts behind a mass murder in Thousand Oaks, CA, that went down late last night, Kim! But you really blew this one big time! Massively! @KrisJenner needs to have a heart to heart with you! Extreme PR boondoggle!” While another echoed, “Mass shooting right in ur state & as ALWAYS none of ur fam say shhh, WHY would any of you? U all have armed guards 24/7 on you, F the rest of us right? Don’t preach to me on gun control HYPOCRITE, MAKE UR MONEY #ThousandOaks.”

She must have heard fans because shortly after, Kim posted a picture of the state of California with a heart around Thousand Oaks on her Instagram story.
This isn’t the first time the KUWTK star has dealt with controversy. Just last week, Kim went to Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party and got annoyed when people couldn’t identify her Pamela Anderson costume. In the Instagram story, she said, “Nobody knows who I am. Yeah! R——d.”
The 38-year-old immediately issued a statement to Us Weekly: “I want to apologize for what I said in a recent video post that is inappropriate and insensitive to the special needs community. I try to learn from my mistakes and this is one of those times. Please know that my intention is always pure, and in this case, it was a mistake. I’m sorry.”
Come on, Kim, you should know better!
