Waiting for the birth of her third child — via a surrogate — has been far more traumatic for Kim Kardashian than she could have ever imagined. “Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong. I think it is so much harder,” Kim, 37, confessed in November, “because you are not really in control.”

That’s just one of the many issues Kim was facing in the days leading up to her daughter’s arrival. From uncomfortable tension with the woman who’s carrying the baby and arguments with husband Kanye West, 40, over cameras in the hospital to fears she won’t bond with the baby, the stress spiraled out of control for the mom of two. “There’s been drama throughout Kim’s baby process,” says an insider, “and the delivery will be no different.”

As the due date approached, Kim and Kanye couldn’t stop fighting. “They’re at loggerheads about the birth being filmed for Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” explains a source. “Kanye’s made it clear that cameras are banned from the delivery room and doesn’t even want [Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner to be there, but Kim’s insisting that Kris be by her side and is trying to convince Kanye that filming it will increase their popularity and [the show’s] ratings.” Kris and Kanye, adds the source, “have been arguing nonstop. It’s driving Kim crazy.”

Cameras aside, everyone in the family is worried they won’t even make it to the delivery room. As In Touch previously reported, the surrogate is insisting on giving birth in San Diego, 120 miles from Kim and Kanye’s home — instead of Kim’s preferred choice, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, which means they’ll have to rush there at a moment’s notice. “Kim has been crying on a routine basis because this baby just feels so physically distant from her,” adds a second source close to the Kardashians, “and she has been unable to even form a bond with the surrogate.”

My little cherry blossom baby

Kim hasn’t exactly helped. In the weeks leading up to the birth, she admitted she hadn’t even told her kids that another woman was carrying their sibling. That was the excuse she gave for not inviting the surrogate to her gorgeous cherry blossom–themed baby shower in November. But the truth is, “Kim didn’t want her to be the center of attention,” explains the insider, which left the other woman fuming. “There will be major tension between them in the delivery room. The surrogate doesn’t even want Kim to be there at this point, but she has no other choice. Everyone is fearful a fight could break out between them!”

They won’t be in the same room for long — Kim will whisk the baby to her own suite. “She doesn’t want the surrogate to even hold her daughter after she gives birth,” says the second source, adding that Kim is “extremely concerned that she won’t bond with the baby because she didn’t carry it.”

The only people who might have a more stressful day? Everyone else at the hospital. “The Kardashians will take over and have all sorts of demands,” says the insider. “As usual, they will infuriate the people who have been unfortunate enough to have a baby the same day as Kim Kardashian.”
