She just can’t win! Kim Kardashian posted a photo of herself at an elephant sanctuary in Bali, but fans were not pleased with the KUWTK starlet because the reserve allows people to ride the animals.

“Missing Bali! And the amazing elephant sanctuary,” the 38-year-old captioned three photos of herself with the magnificent creatures on Instagram on Tuesday, April 30.

Of course, people couldn’t help but point out that she should have done her research beforehand. One person wrote, “No actual elephant sanctuaries have humans riding elephants as it is unethical. Sitting on an elephants back causes spinal damages, internal health issues along with distress. I urge you to look into these issues next time you visit so you know the facts,” while another echoed, “So upsetting to see that you didn’t look into going to an elephant sanctuary where they actually look after the elephants.” A third person chimed in, writing, “Gross. It’s not hard to do some research.”

However, the brunette beauty got some support from her friends and family in the comments section. Her sister Khloé Kardashian wrote, “You are gorgeous!! I miss Bali, too.” Kimora Lee Simmons also left some love for her friend, writing, “Beautiful!”

The TV personality defended herself on Twitter and explained what they were doing at the park. “We visited an elephant sanctuary that has rescued these elephants from Sumatra where they would have otherwise gone extinct,” she said. “It is an organization that is working to save those beautiful animals. We did full research before going.”

In June 2017, the mom of three got candid about what it’s like to deal with the online trolls. “You post something, and it’ll be a million amazing comments and then it could be one or two negative comments that really do affect you and get to you,” she said during the Forbes Women’s Summit. “I’m human just like everyone else. Things do hurt my feelings.”

Well, at least Kim was able to explain her side of the story. Haters — who needs ‘em?
