There a lot of people who say Kim Kardashian has no talent — but we all know that isn’t true. Not only is she a successful businesswoman and noted fashion designer, but the girl can also smell cavities. She’s a woman of many talents, come to think of it — but, unfortunately, singing isn’t one of them. Of course, that didn’t stop Kim from releasing “Jam (Turn It Up)” back in the day.

The year was 2010. It was a simpler time … there was no “Snapchat;” Barack Obama was still in his first term; we never — even in our wildest dreams — could’ve imagined a world where Kylie Jenner, of all people, would become the youngest self-made billionaire; and Kim was dreaming of a music career.

It wasn’t so far off — some of our favorite reality stars have tried to translate their fame into singing careers, including Kim’s one-time BFF Paris Hilton (though, we will contest “Stars Are Blind” was a banger and we will fight anyone who disagrees).

Anyway, Kim was eager to get in the studio — and had access to some really great people, including The-Dream, who produced it, and her now-husband, Kanye West, who made a cameo in the video. While we all have nothing but fond memories of Kim’s failed attempt to top the music charts, she has since called the song her biggest regret (and this is coming for a woman who married someone for 72 days and endorsed Sketcher Shape-Ups).

“It’s definitely a memory, and it was a fun experience. We gave the proceeds to a cancer organization,” Keeks told Andy Cohen in 2014. “But if there’s one thing in life that I wish I didn’t do… I don’t like it when people kind of dabble into things they shouldn’t be. And that I don’t think I should have. Like, what gave me the right to think I could be a singer? Like, I don’t have a good voice.”

Kim had her time for her music to shine, and now it’s all about Kylie. The 22-year-old has taken the internet by ~storm~ with what started as her simply singing the words “rise and shine,” to her daughter, Stormi Webster, in her office tour YouTube video. Now, “rise and shine” is a viral sensation. From memes to Kylie Jenner merchandise, “Rise and Shine” is basically a phenomenon. However, similarly to Kim, it proves that Kylie should stick to everything else she’s doing because music is not her calling. Even Stormi seems to agree.

On Thursday, October 17, Kylie shared a video of Stormi listening to a remixed version of the bop, and the 20-month-old was not impressed. Instead, she kept shouting “daddy,” demanding that Kylie play a Travis Scott song. Can’t say we blame her! But hey, it’s still entertaining because similarly to Kim’s ~jam~ we can’t help but have “Rise and Shine” stuck in our heads.
