Khloé Kardashian Admits She Will ‘Never Come in Between’ Tristan and Daughter True After Scandal
Even though Khloé Kardashian was hurt after Tristan Thompson hooked up with Jordyn Woods in February, the KUWTK starlet wants to make sure their daughter, True Thompson, has a relationship with her father. “It would be easier for me to keep my daughter away and be like, ‘No, because you hurt me, but he never hurt True,’” she divulged during an appearance on a podcast called “On Purpose With Jay Shetty” on Monday, October 14. “[Tristan] and I have our own relationship, and then Tristan and True have theirs. I will never come in between that. I don’t believe in that.”
Despite their rocky relationship, the 35-year-old E! personality insisted that she is trying to move on with her life. “I want to show my daughter that it’s OK to forgive her dad,” she explained. “He’s a great person. Maybe him and I weren’t compatible or whatever in that way, but that’s OK. Nobody’s going to die. I always want True to be surrounded by love.”
The blonde beauty also got candid about how she is holding up these days — eight months after her relationship exploded. “I’ve really chosen to not distract myself or to try and not distract myself,” she dished. “Maybe people could say that True would be a good distraction, but if anything, she’s a healthy distraction.”
Clearly, Khloé is trying not to resent her baby daddy, and it seems like she is trying to remain positive through it all. “I feel so good in my life,” she shared. “I don’t really need much else and so something that I’m focusing on is just making sure to process everything. I think, especially in my family, we’re good at moving on. Like, we have very big, forgiving hearts. We just move on, but we don’t really talk about things that happened, and I don’t know if that’s healthy or not. So, for what I went through with my breakup, I forgive Tristan, and I don’t think he’s a bad person. I think we all make mistakes — we’re humans — but it’s only going to hurt me if I’m holding onto this anger and playing this victim role. I don’t believe in being a victim. So, something I’m focusing on is just making sure I’m healed from that — or as much as I can — and making sure I understand it.”
While the Revenge Body host is healing, the 28-year-old basketball player might still be trying to win back his former love. “Tristan hasn’t given up on Khloé and is always playing mind games with her,” an insider told In Touch exclusively. “She is too easy on him and can’t be cold to him because she always wants to keep a happy home for True. That’s why she can never completely cut him off.”
Luckily, it seems like Koko has learned from her past experiences. The Good American designer was definitely put through the ringer this past year, but it seems like she has come out on top. Khlo revealed she has a lot of “me time” in the morning. “I’m proud of myself,” she stated.
Go, Koko! It seems like she is living her best life these days.
