Are drugs to blame for Kanye West’s erratic behavior? Looks like we’ll have an answer in due time — as In Touch has learned that the rapper, 39, gave blood for a drug test before he was hospitalized late Monday afternoon.

Kanye’s doctor — who called 911 after the “New Slaves” rapper threatened his trainer’s employees — was asked if the father-of-two was on drugs at the time of the incident, but couldn’t give the medics a straight answer.

“[Kanye’s] doctor had no other choice but to call 911 for help because he was refusing to go to the hospital voluntarily. Kanye was having a total psychotic meltdown,” the source tells In Touch, exclusively. “The doctor was asked if Kanye was on drugs, and he responded he didn’t know but wouldn’t be surprised if he was.”

Fortunately, medics were able to take a blood sample — which means only time will tell.
