When Kailyn Lowry debuted her second Cane Corso puppy, she once again got heat from fans over the pups’ cropped ears. Though she clapped back at fans when she brought home Karma in September and tried once again to defend herself in December, her followers weren’t satisfied with her reasons. Now, however, she’s exclusively explaining how she feels to In Touch. Check out the gallery below to see what Kail had to say.
On Sunday, December 15, Kail, 27, introduced her new pooch to the world. “Our family grew by one more,” she wrote on Instagram, revealing that the pup was a little boy.

Cane Corso
The dog was the second she’s adopted in the last three months. On September 5, she revealed that she and her three sons had made Karma a member of their family.

Heat
At the time, the star faced some serious criticism over her dog’s cropped ears. “[There’s] no need for it! Absolutely vile,” one fan wrote. “What’s wrong with you? I’m done,” commented another.

Explaining
At the time, Kail tried to put the topic to rest. “The ears were cropped before I got her, so that was out of my control,” she said.

Take Two
In December, Kail tried to answer some questions about the new addition to her family, telling one fan that the Cane Corsos came from different breeders and weren’t related.

Ear Out
However, the topic of the dog’s ears quickly cropped back up. “That poor baby. But you like the look, right? Doesn’t matter that it hurt him, right?” one Instagram user snarked.

Defending Herself
Once again, Kail tried to push back on the subject, writing, “Do you have a son? Did you have him circumcised? … There’s really no valid reason for circumcision other than cosmetic.”

Criticism
Though she clarified that she doesn’t “judge what people do” in regards to circumcision and was just “making a point,” her push back didn’t stop fans from arguing.

Negativity
Eventually, on Monday, December 16, the MTV simply posted another photo of one of her pets, captioning it, “Here are a few pix of my baby Karma. 💞 Have fun fighting with yourselves in the comments below. 🎀”

Opening Up
Now, however, she’s telling her side to In Touch. She revealed that when she’s picking out a dog, she’s not particularly focusing on what their ears do or don’t look like.

Norms
“It’s not something that’s a make or break for me when looking for a new dog,” she said. “Both of my dogs ears were already cropped before I got them because it’s breed standard.”

Cropping
The Cane Corso Association of America even advocates for the process. Though some argue that it’s an inhumane process, others cite it as helpful for this specific breed.

Taking Sides
Kail didn’t way in on whether dogs’ ears should or shouldn’t be cropped, but she revealed that it wasn’t a decision she made and it didn’t affect which dog she decided to bring home.

“I’m not going to refuse a puppy a home just because their ears are cropped and some people don’t believe in it,” she told In Touch.
