Kailyn Lowry Speaks Out After Former Costar Jenelle Evans Files for Divorce: ‘I Wish Her the Best’
Good vibes only. Teen Mom 2 alum Kailyn Lowry is speaking out shortly after it was revealed that her former costar Jenelle Evans filed for divorce from her husband of two years, David Eason. While chatting with In Touch exclusively on Thursday, October 31, Kailyn said that she “wishes her the best” going forward.
Jenelle, 27, shared the big news with her followers on Instagram earlier in the day, even shedding some light on why she was ready to take this step.
“I’ve mostly kept off social media the past few days because I’ve been focused on making some big life decisions,” the former reality star began, noting how she’s documented her ups and downs for TV since the age of 17.
“A lot of it hasn’t been pretty, but it’s been my life. Like anyone else, I want what’s best for my kids, and I want to be happy,” Jenelle explained. “With time away from Teen Mom, I’ve started to look at my life differently, and I know I need to make changes. I’m starting that now.”
Jenelle also confirmed that she and the kids have moved away from David, 31. “Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end, but I know that’s what is best for me and for my kids,” she concluded. “Today, I’ve filed papers to start that process.”
The exes certainly had a tumultuous last few months, with David making headlines in May 2019 for shooting and killing the family dog Nugget because it snapped at their daughter, Ensley. Afterwards, MTV revealed they were no longer going to be filming Jenelle “as of April 6, 2019,” meaning her story wouldn’t be featured on the next season.
On top of that, David and Jenelle temporarily lost custody of their kids after child protective services investigated the scandal involving their French bulldog. Despite the drama, it seemed like the former flames were trying to work out their differences as they even went to marriage counseling in the following months.
“I mean, we’ve worked on our problems throughout the past few years,” David told Us Weekly in September. “It’s really gotten better. No matter what it looks like, it has gotten actually a lot better since the beginning.”
Of course, fans also know about the history between Kailyn, 27, and Jenelle. Back in December 2018, Jenelle burned Kailyn’s haircare products which were sent to her as a “peace offering,” but a lot of time has passed since then.
Kailyn is letting bygones be bygones.
