Teen Mom 2’s Kailyn Lowry Says Being a Single Parent of 4 Is ‘Lonely’ Amid Drama With Chris Lopez

Riding solo. Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry admitted being a single parent can get lonesome at times after welcoming baby No. 4.

“How are you doing being a single parent? Do you ever get depressed?” one fan asked the 28-year-old during an Instagram Q&A session on Monday, August 24. “I think I handle it the best way I know how,” the proud mama replied on a photo of her sleeping newborn, Creed. “We all do the best we can. There [are] things a single parent goes through that nobody else understands. It’s a different kind of lonely. But we push through.”

Although Kailyn can feel down without a partner by her side, her home is hardly ever quiet thanks to her rowdy brood. The businesswoman welcomed her fourth child on July 30, but this is her second child with ex-boyfriend Chris Lopez. The two also share 3-year-old son Lux. Additionally, Kailyn shares her oldest son, Isaac, 10, with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera, and 6-year-old son Lincoln with ex-husband Javi Marroquin.

While Kail’s relationship with Chris has always been on-and-off, she is hoping he will “step up” as a father after she invited him to the birth of their son, she said on the August 13 episode of her podcast “Coffee Convos.” In the weeks leading up to her birth, the mother was adamant that Chris would not be allowed to welcome their son, but she revealed she called him the morning of her delivery and he was by her side as she gave birth. She even gave their son Chris’ last name.

“I know that there have been periods of time where I felt like he doesn’t deserve to have his last name passed down. … I get so angry and I say a lot of things — that are true. Don’t get me wrong, they’re true. But then I still turn around and try to make other people happy and try to not argue,” she explained on her podcast. “Nothing I do is going to change someone else’s behavior. However, I feel like this is another attempt of me giving him a chance to not argue about the last name. … [To] try to be there.”
