Kailyn Lowry Is a Single Mom, Raising Chris Lopez's Baby Alone

She knows what it’s like to be a mother of boys — but she’s experiencing single motherhood for the first time. Kailyn Lowry welcomed her third son — who has yet to be named — on Saturday, Aug. 5. The Teen Mom 2 star has kept a fairly low profile since giving birth and it’s because she’s definitely feeling the pressure because her baby daddy Chris Lopez has left her to care for their baby all on her own.

“Kailyn is feeling all kinds of emotions right now, it’s pretty overwhelming,” an insider revealed to Hollywood Life. “She’s relieved and happy that the pregnancy is finally over, and that she has a healthy beautiful baby boy — but she’s also utterly exhausted, and scared about the future.”

This is fairly new territory for Kail, because even though she could not make it work with her other two baby daddies — she shares seven-year-old son Isaac with her ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera and she shares three-year-old son Lincoln with her ex-husband Javi Marroquin — she was still in relationships with them when her sons were little so they were there to help with the day-to-day tasks like feedings, diaper changings, and getting up in the middle of the night. Chris was not supportive throughout her pregnancy, but now it’s really setting in that she has to raise this baby alone.

“She’s just feeling a little sorry for herself right now, but Kailyn being Kailyn, she’ll pick herself up and she’ll deal,” the source continued. “Luckily she has a few really good friends who will step up and help her out, and she’s still holding out hope that Chris will come to his senses and want to be in the baby’s life, although nobody else really thinks that’s likely.”

Now that Baby Lo is here, it seems like the pressure Kail is feeling is part of the reason why she’s having a hard time naming her baby. She previously asked fans for help on Twitter, but she still can’t decide on a moniker for her son.
