Things haven’t exactly been going well for Justin Bieber. Since canceling his tour last month — with only 15 spots left — the 23-year-old has been partying non-stop, and it’s reached the point that his friends and family are deeply concerned for his wellbeing. Right now, the relationship between his partying and his faith has the “Baby” singer — who is rarely seen without his pastor and confidante Carl Lentz — “deeply conflicted.”

“In the last two weeks, Justin has told close friends that he’s rethinking his life and wants to ‘follow a new path.’ He talks about God nonstop,” a source tells In Touch exclusively. Another JB insider adds, “He does need some rest. But people in his camp also think something’s up.”

And those closest to him say there’s a reason they feel suspicious — because there is something up. His friend adds, “One minute he’s praying and the next minute he’s partying. He’s all over the place and is a nightmare to deal with.”

Another insider close to Justin says that he isn’t listening to anyone or taking anyone’s guidance — with the exception of his headline-making pastor, Carl. “Justin gets to have a normal life when he’s with Carl,” a source involved with their church, Hillsong, reveals. “Their friendship has a positive impact on his life.”

Justin isn’t the only one getting hurt in this destructive path — a path that those closest to him hope Carl can steer him away from; on July 26, he was involved in an accident and hit a paparazzo with his car while leaving church. While the photog, thankfully, wasn’t seriously injured in the ordeal, the people around Justin agree that the incident was a reminder that he’s desperately in need of a break.

“Justin’s mom [Pattie Mallette] and manager [Scooter Braun] are worried sick that Justin may not be thinking properly,” the Justin insider tells In Touch. “But they both support his decision to take time off.”
