‘Counting On’ Star Joy-Anna Duggar Shares a One-Month Update on Her Son Gideon
One month old! It's hard to believe that it's been one month already since Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed her first child with her husband Austin Forsyth, and the new mom can't believe it either. The Counting On star took to Instagram on Saturday, March 24 to share an update on her baby boy Gideon and fans cannot get enough of her newborn son.
"Time sure does fly! It’s hard to believe Gideon is already 1 month old!" the 20-year-old wrote in the caption. It's the first photo that Joy-Anna shared of baby Gideon since she announced his birth last month, and fans flooded the comments section to gush over how much Gideon looks just like his daddy Austin. "Those Forsyth genes must be super strong to have conquered those strong Duggar genes!" one fan wrote, and another commented, "I'd love to see side by sides of Gideon [and] Austin when Austin was this little! I have a feeling there'd be quite a resemblance LOL."
It's good to see that little Gideon looks happy and healthy — especially after the scary complications that Joy-Anna experienced during labor. Just like her older sisters, Joy-Anna originally opted to have a home birth but she had to be rushed to a nearby hospital for an emergency C-section because baby Gideon was breech — which means he was positioned feet first instead of head first, and delivering a baby feet first through the birth canal is considered extremely dangerous. But thankfully, Joy-Anna made it to the hospital in time and baby Gideon arrived safely.
Joy-Anna had a lot of support from her husband and her family throughout her 20 hours of labor, but her big sister Jill Duggar seemed to be one of the most hands-on in terms of helping Joy-Anna. In scenes from a special Counting On webisode, Jill could be seen holding her sister's hand and helping to coach her through her difficult labor.
