Congratulations! ‘Counting On’ Star Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth Welcome Baby No. 2
Congratulations are in order for Joy-Anna Forsyth (née Duggar) and her husband, Austin Forsyth! The Counting On couple welcomed baby No. 2, a girl, on Friday, August 21, two days after their due date. Though they didn’t reveal her name, they gushed over their family’s latest addition.
“To say my heart is full is an understatement,” Joy-Anna, 22, wrote on Instagram. “We have been dreaming of this day and are so happy to announce that our baby girl arrived August 21 at 2:12 p.m. weighing 8 lbs, 5 oz and is 19.5 inches long! She has the best personality, is easy going and loves to be held! She has her nights and days mixed up, but honestly, I love it! Getting to spend that quiet, quality time with her through the night has been SO special!”
The TLC stars are already parents to son Gideon, whom they welcomed in February 2018. They also lost a daughter named Annabell Elise when they miscarried at 20 weeks in June 2019. The couple have done their best to honor her memory in the year since, even paying tribute to her on the anniversary of the day they found out there was no heartbeat.
“I remember leaving our ultrasound appointment, sobbing and wondering how we were ever going to move forward and so fearful of having to deliver her,” Joy shared on Instagram on June 26. “It hurts to look back at these pictures and remember the pain and heartbreak, but, when I do look back, I am so thankful for how far we’ve come … how God has given us more joy, peace [and] healing than I ever thought we would have again.”
Joy and Austin also reflected on the experience when they first discovered they were expecting again. Though the Duggar daughter thought she would be worried during her next pregnancy, she felt nothing but excitement when she realized the family had a bundle of joy on the way. However, things took a turn when their doctor feared the pregnancy might not be viable.
“Going through all of this again after going through it with Annabell … It’s been a very difficult few weeks,” Joy admitted in a vlog shared on the family’s YouTube page. Soon enough, however, she and her husband discovered that her pregnancy seemed healthy — and that she was having a little girl. “It’s such a relief,” Austin shared. “The last, I don’t know, month? We’ve just been really unsure if it was going to be a viable pregnancy or not. It’s just like a huge load lifted off our shoulders knowing that the test came back good.”
Over the following months, Joy kept fans up to date with her progress. When she hit 25 weeks, she even gave her followers a hint that they had some name ideas in mind, though they were waiting to meet their little girl before finalizing their decision. “We’re not deciding on a name until she’s born, but she is already our little princess!” she gushed.
Now that their daughter is here, we can’t wait to see Joy and Austin spoil her like the royalty she is.
