Josh Duhamel and wife Fergie are wealthy superstars now, but that doesn’t mean they've forgotten their humble beginnings. A flood that destroyed thousands of homes and displaced 12,000 residents recently devastated Josh's small hometown of Minot, N.D. Now, the actor has taken it upon himself to set up a website and organize a huge concert fundraiser on September 3 featuring Fergie and The Black Eyed Peas.
On the website minotrising.com, Josh asks fans and celebrities to help support the cause. “I spent the first 22 years of my life in Minot and still have family living there, including two sisters who have been displaced by flood waters," he wrote. "Minot will always be home to me, and it breaks my heart to see the devastation the city and its residents are going through. People from Minot are strong and come together in a time of need, and I know they'll get through this. But with everyone's help, we can make it easier for them to restore their lives and the surrounding Minot area. I can't express how grateful I am to The Black Eyed Peas for their incredible support.”
Tickets will be available starting on August 12, and all concert proceeds will go to the Minot Area Community Foundation's Minot Area Recovery Fund.
