Ugh. Jinger Duggar is getting mom-shamed, so much so that she disabled the comments on one of her photos of Felicity so that followers and nay-sayers couldn’t continue to leave critical messages. The Counting On star gave birth to her baby girl — whom she shares with her (hunky AF) hubby, Jeremy Vuolo — but her parenting skills have been called into question pretty much constantly since then. And after months of mommy-shaming, she’s having trouble dealing with all the hate.

The most recent controversy came out when the 24-year-old mom showed off photos of her daughter in a head wrap, which some called cultural appropriation. “Jinger has busybodies commenting on everything she does so it’s not a huge shock that she’s getting grief over Felicity’s head wrap but it still upsets her,” a Duggar family insider revealed to Hollywood Life. “She feels like she’s constantly getting mom shamed since she had Felicity. She had no idea it was going to be this bad. Jinger is doing her best to let ignore the negativity and focus on the positive, but it’s hard.”

On the photo where she had to shut down comments, Jinger wrote, “?#felicitynicolevuolo #3.5weeks,” but it didn’t take long for trolls to find several things that were “wrong” with the photo. One rude commenter asked, “Why does her face look so dirty?” while another chimed in alleging that Felicity’s headband was a “suffocation hazard.” Of course, since she was in a car seat, plenty of people also had something to say about the straps not being properly secured. Jeremy hasn’t been able to escape the parenting police either. On Tuesday, Aug. 7 the first-time dad gushed over his little one, who joined him for a study sesh. “Look who joined me for OT Studies w/ Dr. Essex…” he captioned the precious shot. However, fans also noticed something that they weren’t too happy about: Jer was holding his baby facing toward the computer — and her eyes were glued to the screen.

“Jer the light of the computer is not healthy for the eyes of your baby!!” one fan commented, while another added, “Her eyes are still too delicate for screens like that.” A third chimed in, “Be careful… I believe ‘screen time’ before age two can have adverse effects.” Yikes! Surely a few minutes of screentime won’t be too much on the tiny tot?

Jinger’s photos have been the main targets, though. “It’s making her think twice about sharing pictures of Felicity,” the source told Hollywood Life. “The mom shaming is very hurtful… But Jeremy is urging her not to let the haters win. There are so many wonderful fans that love seeing their beautiful daughter, and it would be a shame to deprive them of that joy.”

If the couple needs legitimate advice, they’re hardly alone. While they may be first-time parents, they have plenty of people they can ask for help — like, oh, we don’t know Jinger’s mama… or one of her many siblings! They all deal with their share of shaming, but hopefully they can find support from each other. In the mean time, we’re crossing our fingers that things get better for Jinger, because we love to see pics of Felicity in our feeds.
