For the love of God, someone please introduce Jill Duggar to the produce aisle. The former Counting On star — who got the boot from her family’s hit show due to her husband’s transphobic tweets — recently shared a recipe for “Momma’s Stew” that contains ketchup, canned veggies, and a s–t ton of sugar. Honestly, just typing that made me want to vom.

Jill shared the recipe on her family’s blog and wrote, “I grew up eating this stew, but it was one of those recipes that my mom didn’t have written down in her recipe box. So when I wanted to make it the other day, I had to call her and ask her what ingredients she uses.” She added, “I made it and both boys loved it. Sometimes it’s hard to get your kids to eat a lot of veggies, but it seems like any of these combo dishes definitely help!”

Newsflash, Jilly: Canned potatoes hardly counts as a vegetable. Plus, when you add sugar, salty soy sauce, and ground beef into the mix, you’re not exactly having a fresh meal. Let’s list the ingredients she throws together, shall we?

1 lb. lean ground beef

2 T. ketchup

1 t. onion powder

1 T. Bragg’s liquid aminos (or soy sauce)

2 cans (15 oz.) potatoes, or 5 medium potatoes

1 can (15 oz.) peas

1 can (15 oz.) green beans

1 can (15 oz.) carrots

2 cans (15 oz.) corn

1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce

1/4 cup sugar

1 cube beef bouillon

Still, I can’t exactly fault the 27-year-old for her lack of cooking skills. After all, she is one of 19 children and her family used canned ingredients for economical purposes. That said, now that she has only two mouths to feed — nay, three including man-child Derick Dillard — she can afford to hit up the farmer’s market every now and then.

Remember that tater tot casserole? Yeah, we’re trying to forget too. Seriously, Jill. Give your kids a freaking carrot stick or something every now and then.

Still not over Jill Duggar’s horrifying recipes? Neither are we. Listen to our Dishin’ on the Duggars podcast (and subscribe on iTunes and Google Play) where we consult a Duggarologist to give some explanation as to why Jill’s recipes look (and taste!) like crap.
