PSA: Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Want Your Money (Again)
Sigh, once again, Jill and Derick Dillard are asking for handouts. The Counting On stars recently revealed that they were leaving their El Salvador ministry for a different program at Cross Church. The father-of-two took to Pure Charity — similar to GoFundMe — to announce why he needed the extra bucks.
"BIG NEWS! For the next year, I will be serving through a program at my home church, called the Cross Church School of Ministry!" He wrote. "I am so excited about this incredible opportunity for further ministry development, and I would like to invite you to share in this excitement with me." Unfortunately, people aren't giving much more than an eye roll to the cause. Fans took his "share in this excitement" comment as "fork over your money," so he's only raised $125 of his $6,500 goal. He added, "I started a fundraiser on Pure Charity to raise the funding I need for various mission’s opportunities I will have throughout the year. I have a donations goal of $6,500. This will enable me to fulfill my specific calling to ministry this year, including trips for Gospel-advancement and humanitarian work in Northwest Arkansas, North America, and abroad." Ah yes, Gospel-advancement. Whatever that means.

Of course, this isn't the first time the family has asked for fans' hard-earned dollars. Earlier this month, the couple begged for money for their previous ministry, before closing up shop two weeks ago. At the time, they posted a note on the Duggar family website that stated, "Beginning this month, we are discontinuing Dillard Family Ministries and will no longer be accepting donations through this organization," the couple's statement read. "Through a number of circumstances, and guided by much prayer and counsel, we are discerning the Lord leading our family’s full-time ministry back to the United States for the time being."

No wonder fans are wary about donating to their new ministry. "I'm going to donate my charity money to my local food bank or women's shelter… you have lots of money from TLC, why don't you put that towards your ministry?" One person quipped. Another added, "The lying scamming bigot is at it again."
On Aug. 2, the 28-year-old decided to voice his unwanted opinion on Twitter about fellow TLC star and transgender teen, Jazz Jennings. He wrote, "What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality." As if that weren't enough, he added, "'Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God." Needless to say, they couldn't have picked a worse time to be asking for money.
Counting On returns Monday, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
