Jessica Alba has filed for divorce from estranged husband Cash Warren on Friday, February 7, one month after the Honey actress confirmed their separation, In Touch can confirm.
Jessica, 43, is being represented by celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, according to court docs obtained by In Touch. She listed their date of separation as December 27, 2024. The L.A.’s Finest actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the grounds for their divorce and she requested joint legal and physical custody of their children.
TMZ was the first to report the news on Friday, February 7, sharing that the couple did not sign a prenup before they wed. Cash, 46, filed his own divorce docs immediately after Jessica’s via attorney Adam Lipsic. He listed the same information as Jessica’s in his filing.
On January 8, news broke that Jessica and the In the Blood producer had split and were headed for a divorce after 16 years of marriage.
Jessica broke her silence on January 16 and confirmed her separation from Cash.
“I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash, ”she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
Jessica and Cash seemingly showed signs of trouble in their relationship before their split. For starters, both parties were spotted without their wedding rings. The film producer was recently seen out in Los Angeles sans wedding band, according to TMZ.
Meanwhile, the Camp Nowhere star was spotted at W Magazine‘s annual pre-Golden Globes party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood with close friend Derek Blasberg on January 4, according to The Daily Mail. Cash reportedly did not attend the event with his wife, and her wedding ring was not visible on her finger.
Jessica also reportedly skipped the wedding band during an outing with film producer Andrea Iervolino in Rome in December 2024, TMZ reported.
The actress hinted that she was going through a challenging time with a cryptic post on New Year’s Eve in which she reflected on her year and looked forward to 2025.
“Repost: The Year of the Snake teaches us profound self-improvement, encouraging growth from within and expanding our consciousness. It reminds us that becoming a better version of ourselves allows for greater flexibility, shedding rigidity, and embracing transformation,” her post read. “The invitation is to open to psychic awareness, to sense the vibrations of your environment, and then use that insight to move forward on your path. This year embodies a calm, knowing energy, showing us that change fosters growth and makes us better people. This enables us as empaths and lightworkers to strive for expansion within our collective consciousness.”

Jessica continued, “Gratitude. Here’s to a colorful past year that was filled with connection, growth, adventures, laughter, peace, sisterhood, transformation, rebirth, joy and so much love. Sending hugs to everyone going through it — cheers to 2025 and even more love to come! Let’s goooo!”
On the other hand, days before the separation reports, Jessica and Cash appeared to have a blast with son Hayes, 7, and daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, at Universal Studios in celebration of their youngest child’s birthday. She shared several snaps from the outing on Instagram on January 3, including one that showed her posing alongside Cash and their son.
“The best day at #UniversalStudios celebrating our 7-year-old, Hayes! Thank you for having us, @unistudios,” she wrote.
Jessica and Cash first met in 2004 on the set of The Fantastic Four, in which she starred. At the time, he was working as a director’s assistant. The pair got engaged in 2007, and they later tied the knot in a small Beverly Hills courthouse in May 2008.
Months before their split, Jessica shared with People how she and Cash kept their relationship strong.
“It’s something you really have to make a choice to do,” she told the outlet in June 2024. “You have to really find time to make time for each other. Going through the motions of the day to day is what it is, but it’s important to just know that we have to be a priority, and taking those moments to see each other and have a giggle and not be on the phone and just actually connect.”
