Jersey Shore’s Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola Is Pregnant, Expecting Baby No. 1 With Justin May
Jersey Shore star Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola announced that she’s pregnant and expecting baby No. 1 with her fiancé, Justin May, after opening up about her infertility issues on the show.
“We’ve been keeping a little secret … Baby May Due August 2025,” Sammi, 37, wrote alongside photos of her and Justin holding up a sonogram via Instagram on Sunday, February 23. “After struggling through years of infertility, this is the absolute greatest blessing we could ever possibly ask for!”
She continued, “We are so thrilled to finally be able to share the news of our little miracle with you all! Our hearts have never been so full of love, we can’t wait to meet you baby!”
Shortly after Sammi and Justin shared the exciting news, several of their costars and fans rushed to the comments section to react to the announcement. “My heart is so happy for you both!!! Congratulations!” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s wife, Lauren Sorrentino, commented, and Vinny Guadagnino chimed in, “Congrats!”
“So so so happy for you both!!! You deserve it all my loves!!!” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wrote, and Jenni “JWOWW” Farley said, “I’m crying all over again!!!! Congratulations.”
The congratulations continued as a fan commented, “The way my mouth just dropped for strangers!! I’ve been watching y’all since I was 11 and I love this for you!! Congratulations!”
Sammi and Justin got engaged in March 2024, and they announced the news one month later. “Life update: Fiancé 3.16.24,” she captioned photos from their engagement. “The easiest question I’ve ever answered … happiest & luckiest girl in the world. I’ll love you forever and then some.”
The couple has since documented her struggles with fertility and decision to undergo IVF during season 7 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
She previously opened up about why she wanted to share her experience while talking to Life & Style in September 2024. “I couldn’t hide it. It was like, I just came back to the show, but I’m going through this and it was like, I don’t wanna leave the show again and step back from it when I just came back,” the reality star said at the time. “So it was actually a really hard decision to make.”
Sammi added that while she willingly filmed the storyline, she wasn’t sure if she wanted it to air. “But I’ve learned through this whole process that by talking about it more, it makes it a little bit more easier to go through,” she continued. “Maybe [it] will help other people relate or maybe somebody else is going through a similar situation.”
“Maybe I can just help anybody with what I’m going through personally,” Sammi said, sharing that she “learned a lot” about IVF “through other people” posting about their experiences on social media. “So maybe now I can just help other people with what I’m going through with my story.”
Sammi went on to note that “a lot of people keep private” about their struggles with fertility, though she has come to learn “that so many other people are actually going through the same thing.”
