While several of his Jersey Shore cast mates are off having children (we’re lookin’ at you, Snooki and JWoww), Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has something completely different in the works—a new TV show!
A friend of the Gym/Tan/Laundry guru tells In Touch that filming on the new series, The Sorrentinos, kicked off last week and it’s unlike anything you’re used to!
“It’s about the family,” the friend reveals to the mag. “And he is just part of the family now.
"It’s about his brother Marc, going out and being a DJ. His sister, who is getting married, the mother, the brothers, it’s more of a family-style show. Not a fall-down-and-get-drunk show.”
Since Jersey Shore wrapped, the 31-year-old battled his demons and, eventually, overcame his addiction to prescription pills.
In addition to featuring his family—older brothers Frank and Marc—sister Melissa and mom Linda, the show will also focus on his sobriety and the fight to stay clean.
“It’s all part of it—it’s about the Sorrentinos,” the friend dishes. “The shooting started Friday at a club in Long Island with his brother DJ. And you know, Sitch wasn’t supposed to be there, but you know he popped in late… so the cameras could catch the excitement.”
Already anticipating Mike’s return to the small screen? The wait won’t be long, the friend tells In Touch!
“They’re talking early June,” his pal confirms.
