He’s setting the record straight! Jeremy Vuolo responded to a tweet about what the world says a “manly husband” should be on July 27. The Counting On star fired back at society’s standards of an ideal partner, while comparing what he felt were better qualities.

The fan tweet read, “The world says a manly husband is: indulging in lust, insensitive, into himself, inexpressive.” The second part of the tweet continued: “The Bible says real men copy Christ: he initiates love, he’s compassionate, he’s self-sacrificing, he verbalizes his love.” Jeremy responded to the message: “spot on,” and several fans agreed with him. The reality star knows a thing or two about married life, as he and Jinger Duggar tied the knot in 2016.

Earlier this week, Jeremy’s father-in-law Jim Bob and mother-in-law Michelle Duggar celebrated a milestone of their own. “We are so thankful for 34 beautiful, wonderful years of marriage so far, and we know the importance of keeping the Lord at the center of your marriage!” Jim wrote on July 25. He also shared a blog post about the basic needs of a husband, however not everyone shared Jim’s views. The Duggars are known for honoring strict courting rules that include no full-frontal hugging and no hand-holding until marriage.

Jeremy seems to have this whole husband thing down, but he’s still getting used to his new role as a father! His wife Jinger just gave birth to their precious baby girl, Felicity Nicole, on July 19, and after their big announcement, several of the Duggar family members sent them congratulatory messages. Fans absolutely loved it when Jeremy later opened up about being a new daddy, joking how he was getting very little sleep and resorting to coffee. We feel him!
