Twinsies! Jennifer Garner and her son, Samuel, were all smiles as they stepped out in L.A. on Monday, October 7. The two were seen wearing matching outfits and bonding over a sweet treat.
Jen, 47, appeared to be in high spirits as she strolled around town with her 7-year-old son. Both Sam and Jen were wearing white T-shirts and khaki pants with their afternoon snacks in tow — Jen was, of course, enjoying a coffee while Sam appeared to be chowing down on some froyo. They held hands as they walked side-by-side.
The 13 Going on 30 star is also mom to Violet, 13, and Seraphina 10, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck. She often gushes about her kids and talks about the joys of motherhood. “I have kids that are funny and smart, and I think they’re awesome,” she recently told Entertainment Tonight. “They change you wholly, and completely and not at all. I’m lucky to have them.”
Despite the good times, she does admit parenting can be a handful — especially when it comes to Halloween. Jen said celebrating the holiday “gets harder [as they get older].” Adding, “I remember one year when I talked both my girls into dressing up as pigs, and they were so cute! And now they would be like, ‘No, mom, oh, my gosh, no!’ It’s harder, but they’re going to be cute, whatever they are.”
Jen knows she can be a little overbearing, but she told Katie Couric she has “chilled out” as a mom. Although, she can’t seem to break her habit of cooking over the top meals. “Here I am making homemade Wheat Thins like a nerd, and my kids don’t want them,” she said to the journalist, 62. “The harder you work on whatever you’re making for your kids, the less apt they are to eat it.”
In addition to her kid’s distaste for her “nerd” snacks, Jen admitted they think she is a little lame. “I kill the fun,” she said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in September. “I am so lame. I say, ‘No,’ to everything. They call me the dragon. They have all these names for me.” We love to see Jen spending quality time with kids!
