Jenelle Evans Reveals Son Jace Will Be Walking Her Down the Aisle: “He Is So Excited!”
Mother’s Day 2017 feels like ages ago, but Jenelle Evans is still reeling from the drama that went down with her mom, Barbara, who currently has primary custody of her son, Jace. “I was supposed to see Jace,” the Teen Mom 2 star, 25, tells Life & Style of her 8-year-old son. “After my mom refused my phone calls for three hours, I drove to her house. Her car was in the garage, but she wouldn’t answer the door, so I called the cops.”
Nothing’s going to stop Jenelle from getting Jace to her upcoming wedding, though. While Barbara is not on the guest list and continues to have a contentious relationship with her daughter, Jenelle reveals exclusively to Life & Style that Jace is set to walk her down the aisle on Sept. 23 when she ties the knot with pipe welder, David Eason. “He is so excited,” gushes his mom. “He wants to wear his suit tomorrow!” Mother and son have come a long way. Jenelle, who has been arrested more than 10 times for everything from drug possession to assault, signed over custody of Jace in 2010 because she couldn’t properly care for him. But after their May bust-up, Barbara, 64, and her daughter came to an agreement that gave Jenelle specific visitation rights and more involvement in decision-making.
“I’m definitely looking forward to going back to court again in another year,” says Jenelle. “Hopefully they’ll grant me custody.” By then, she’ll be a happily married woman. Jenelle reveals that her September nuptials — her second wedding after a courthouse ceremony with ex Courtland Rogers in 2012 and five engagements! — will be a casual affair. “I even told guys, ‘Come in jeans and button- downs.’ I don’t care,” she tells Life & Style. “It’s going to be laid-back, with buffet-style food and only close friends and family.” That means Jenelle’s other children (son Kaiser, 3, with ex Nathan Griffith and Ensley, her 7-month-old daughter with David) will definitely be on hand. But Barbara won’t be babysitting her gaggle of grandkids while Jenelle’s at the altar. “She really crushed our relationship,” says the MTV star, adding that her mother’s quick temper has always been an issue. “Maybe I’ll forgive her someday, but just not right now.”
There was some speculation that the groom might not make it to the wedding. After allegedly violating an ex’s protective order in 2016, David was scheduled for a Sept. 5 court appearance to face possible jail time. Still, Jenelle has had zero doubts that her husband-to-be will make the “I do’s.“ She insists, “He’s going to be there!” adding that they’re considering a Hawaiian honeymoon. “David makes me so happy.”
