She’s firing back! Jenelle Evans defended herself after sharing a throwback bikini pic in the rain, where she asked fans to pray for North Carolina and South Carolina amid Hurricane Florence. The Teen Mom 2 star responded to the backlash on her swimsuit snap and tweets.

“Hopefully you’re starting to take this seriously. No more #WhatHurricane hashtags and asking for prayers in a bikini. People are dying and losing everything,” one commenter wrote, while calling her out for the way she’s been delivering her messages. The reality star replied: “No s–t, I meant that [What Hurricane] caption as in my children are safe and comfortable. Always taking my words and twist them to make it sound negative.”

Only a few days prior, Jenelle responded to the criticism surrounding her bikini photo. “I don’t get why everyone’s offended by my profile pic I posted yesterday,” she wrote. “I’m in the path of the hurricane, that picture is from months ago while fishing, asking for prayers…what is SO bad or disrespectful about that?” Jenelle has since deleted the controversial swimsuit snap with the edited caption: “Pray for the Carolinas. Our linemen. And first responders.”

Jenelle lives near Wilmington, NC, and her home is located more inland, but on Sept. 16, she took to Twitter to ask fans for prayers because her mom, Barbara Evans, is in an area that is really being affected. Today, the 26-year-old assured her followers that she is fine, while updating them on Barbara. “Trying to navigate my mom back home right now is almost impossible. Roads are flooded everywhere. I can’t even help because I can’t get to them and our stores are dry of everything! This is so scary.” We’re hoping they stay safe.
