Fans Start Petition to Fire Jenelle Evans and David Eason Following Gun Photo Controversy
Is MTV going to give Jenelle Evans and David Eason the boot? The Teen Mom 2 couple received backlash online earlier this week after posting a series of “insensitive” photos and comments just hours after the Florida school shooting. Now, fans of the show have started a petition to get the husband and wife duo fired.
On Thursday, a Change.org petition to Teen Mom executive producer Morgan J. Freeman was created due to the reality stars’ “gross insensitivity” and “disturbing” pictures. “David posted photos of his wife, Jenelle Eason, holding and aiming a rifle, the same weapon that the gunman used in the Florida massacre,” the petition read. “When questioned on Twitter about why he would post such photos after this tragedy, he attacked several women, calling them ‘b—–s’ and ‘h–s’ and using other threatening and abusive language.” The description continued, “These people need to be reprimanded for their actions. We urge all of you to sign this petition to get them removed from MTV and fired from Teen Mom 2.” Watch the video below to see the photos and tweets.
A couple days later, Jenelle and David’s TM co-star, Farrah Abraham, weighed in on their actions — and she didn’t hold back on how she felt. The mother-of-one told In Touch exclusively, “I feel that after years and years of horrible mass gun violence at schools, and those who were the gun shooters who killed many innocent lives, wanting the attention from a gun with an act of violence — I think it’s really horrible Jenelle and her husband show the same traits as a mentally unstable killer, by wanting attention from a gun,” she said via email on Friday.
She added, “I no longer want to be associated with the Teen Mom franchise, and I hope the appropriate government jurisdictions start changing gun laws and our President Donald Trump can start limiting gun violence in the appropriate ways,” she continued. As of the publication of this article, 2,275 had been signed with a goal of 2,500.
