A few days before Valentine’s Day, the whole Duggar family gathered to share some love. Well, the whole family except for the Dillards, that is. When Jana Duggar posted pictures and videos of the Counting On stars’ get-together on her Instagram page, fans couldn’t help but notice that Jill DuggarDerick Dillard, and their kids were all missing. But as it turns out, there’s a totally logical explanation for that. When a fan asked about it in the comments, Jana was more than happy to answer. Watch the video above to see why Jill didn’t get a Valentine note, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

Sometimes it really is as simple as that — but everyone else clearly had a great time. Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband, Austin Forsyth, said as much in response to Jana’s post, and so did Anna Duggar, Josh Duggar‘s wife. “Last night was so sweet!” said the mother-of-five. “Thanks @janamduggar for organizing such a sweet family night!” Joy agreed, writing, “It sure was fun!! And I agree, one of the best family nights yet!!! Thanks for putting this together, Jan!!” But the big sister acknowledged she couldn’t have done it without her siblings, writing back, “Thank you for helping make it happen, Joy!!”

Newlyweds John David and Abbie Grace Burnett also weighed in, adding, “Thank you so much for initiating the Valentine dinner last night. It was such a meaningful time! We look forward to it being a new family tradition!” It’s clear Jana does, too, and she responded by telling her twin and his wife that she was glad that they could make it — and that she “misses having more of those moments together!” Aww, how sweet is that? Now that we’re finally getting a chance to see the threesome spend time together on TLC‘s new season, we love them even more.
