If It Weren’t for Her Family, Jana Duggar Could Be the Next Joanna Gaines

Although the Duggars get married off and start having children at frighteningly young ages, Jana Duggar, who's 27, is still waiting for "the one." If she was in any other family, this would be completely normal, but because she's in the strict, religious family that believes women should be subservient to their husbands, Jana isn't allowed to go out, travel the world, and have a career like her peers. Instead, she sits in a house all day playing babysitter to her troupe of younger siblings as she waits for someone to propose to her already.

Like Joanna Gaines, Jana also has a knack for gardening.

Although Jana admitted on Counting On that she does do other things besides "cook and take care of babies," fans couldn't help but feel sorry for her when she revealed earlier this year that the main thing she was looking forward to in her life was her sister, Jessa's, pregnancy. "She should have her own life and her own plans that don't involve her family," a fan wrote on Facebook. "Doesn't she have anything she wants to do?" another fan asked. "Even play music or a new hobby or something?"

The reserved daughter has been secretly hammering out some pretty impressive home improvement projects that range from interior design to gardening. Even Jessa has compared her to Joanna Gaines, the designer and star of HGTV's Fixer Upper. If Jana was allowed to have Internet access, she could be making serious bank with a lifestyle blog or even an Etsy store.
