Always in her heart.
“A year ago today was one of the most difficult, saddest days of my life … today is our angel baby’s heavenly birthday,” Jamie, 31, wrote.
A year ago today was one of the most difficult, saddest days of my life ... today is our angel baby's heavenly birthday.👼🏼 We wanted to remember him & honor him so we planted a beautiful tree front & center in our yard.🌲 Every day we can see it, watch it grow, and be reminded of him.💚 Thank you to all the ladies who helped us figure out how to correctly plant a tree on Facebook live last night (link in bio) ...And thank you all for helping us love, honor, and remember our first born.... we think it turned out great.💙 He was only here with us for a short time, but he'll always be in our hearts! ....We will always love you sweet little Johnathan.👼🏼💚 Thanks for being a great big brother to your little sister. 👶🏼🌈 #pregnancyloss #infantloss #alwaysinourhearts ❤️
In her post, the reality TV starlet — who suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage last July, four months into her pregnancy — shared photos of the tree she and Doug, 36, planted in honor of their late son.
“We wanted to remember him & honor him so we planted a beautiful tree front & center in our yard,” Jamie continued. “Every day we can see it, watch it grow, and be reminded of him.”
The Bachelor alum — who is currently pregnant and expecting a little girl with Doug — concluded, “He was only here with us for a short time, but he’ll always be in our hearts! … We will always love you sweet little Johnathan. Thanks for being a great big brother to your little sister.”
As previously reported in February, Jamie revealed via Instagram that she was pregnant with baby No. 2. “We are PREGNANT!!! Our sweet Baby Hehner is due this August,” she wrote in the caption with the hashtags “#pregnant” and “#overjoyed.”
At the time, Jamie and Doug posed for a rainbow-themed photo shoot to celebrate their “rainbow baby” — a term used for children who are born to parents who have previously gone through a miscarriage. Jamie held up a sonogram while Doug proudly displayed a sign that read, “Handpicked for Earth by my brother in heaven.”
