We couldn't be happier for Married at First Sight stars Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner, who welcomed a baby girl early Tuesday morning. The happy couple named their new addition Henley Grace Hehner, and her rep told People that everyone is "doing well and in pure bliss.” Henley weighed in at 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and 20 inches long.
As fans already know, daughter Henley is a "rainbow baby," or a baby born after the loss of an infant or pregnancy. But son Jonathan, whom the couple lost due to miscarriage last July, will not be forgotten. In fact, the couple has plans of including their late son in their new daughter's nursery.
“My sister's mother-in-law made me these beautiful, golden angel wings as a little something to have in Henley's room," the new mom told Us Weekly. "As a sign that her big brother is always with her watching over her and protecting her. They will be hanging on the wall next to her crib."
The reality star couple, who tied the knot back in 2014, also opened up about finding out they were expecting following the tragic loss of their first pregnancy. “When we found out we were pregnant with our rainbow baby on his due date (Dec. 20) we knew it was a sign that this baby is a gift from God and her big brother up in heaven watching over her and protecting her, so of course we included him,” Jamie said.
Loading ... 96% finished. 🔜 Baby Henley Grace is coming any day now. 👶🏼🎀 She's due on 8/24/17 - in 1 week‼️Her daddy thinks she's coming 8/20/17. I'm 2cm dilated and some days I wake up feeling like "oh my gosh, today's the day!" - so achy & mild contractions - but then other days I feel like I could happily stay 9 months pregnant forever.🤰🏼 Sooo, who knows.🤷🏼♀️ I am enjoying every last kick & move inside me though. ☺️💗 #ilovebeingpregnant
The couple broke the news of the tragic loss on Instagram. “Our baby Hehner was just too beautiful for Earth. I love him so much — always will — and can’t wait to meet him in heaven one day. Please pray for us,” the reality stars said at the time.
Jamie sparked rumors that she was going into labor a few weeks back when she announced that she was 2 centimeters dilated. "I cannot believe our daughter will be in our arms in a matter of days/weeks!" she wrote on Instagram. "She's so big and takes up every crevice of my insides so I literally cannot breathe — lol, but seriously, I can't tell you how amazing it feels to know that if she decided to come tomorrow she'd be fully developed and healthy!"
It's clear these two could not wait to be parents, as Jamie previously told People that she always wanted a daughter. “I’ve always wanted to have that mother-daughter relationship that I kind of missed out on with my mom. I secretly hoped to be a mommy to a little girl and to have a little mini me.”
Doug chimed in with, “Every one of my guy friends says there is this unexplained special bond that happens with a daughter. They don’t know what it is, but it’s an amazing feeling, and I cannot wait.”
Congratulations to the growing family!
