Jennifer Lopez’s Sister’s Reunion With Ben Affleck’s Daughter Violet ‘Raised Eyebrows’

The post puzzled everyone. “New Haven with my favorite Yalie!” Jennifer Lopez’s sister, Lynda Lopez, wrote on Instagram on November 3, alongside a selfie with Ben Affleck’s eldest daughter, Violet. “It raised eyebrows, but Ben and Jen’s families did get really close” during their two-year marriage, a source exclusively tells In Touch, noting that J. Lo’s daughter, Emme, is still tight with Ben’s child, Fin. “It’s hard to cut ties completely just because they filed for divorce.”

Lynda shocked fans when she uploaded the photo from her reunion with Violet, 18. In addition to a selfie of the pair, the former TV news reporter also posted photos of their stroll through campus on the sunny fall day.

Not only does Lynda seem to have a hard time removing Ben’s family from her life, but J. Lo, 55, is also seemingly dealing with the same issue.

“She always thought their relationship would last forever and can’t seem to let go,” says the source, adding that seeing Ben, who recently gushed that she’s “spectacular” in her new movie, Unstoppable, “isn’t helping. Comments like that, and his sweet behavior when they’ve seen each other, are confusing — how can anyone blame her for holding out hope?”

After Ben, 52, applauded her work in the film that he produced, Jennifer subtly avoided a reporter’s question when she was asked how she would describe his work as a producer. “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful,” she said during the film’s London premiere on November 5.

The former couple – who tied the knot in July 2022 – faced months of split speculation before she confirmed they called it quits by filing for divorce in August.

Despite no longer being romantically involved, Ben and Jennifer have been spotted on a handful of outings together with their children. However, fans shouldn’t expect the pair to give their romance another shot.

On November 6, an additional insider exclusively told In Touch that Jennifer was “clearly moving on” and was open to meeting someone new. “She’s not looking for a serious relationship — for now — but she is looking to have some fun. She’s on the prowl again,” the source revealed.

“The breakup with Ben really shook her up,” the insider continued. “She was devastated and put on a brave face in the weeks following the split. But then something shifted. She picked herself up and decided to move on. No more sulking.”

A third source exclusively told In Touch that the Wedding Planner actress was determined to rebound with a younger man. “She’s already given the go-ahead for these hunks to be auditioned and served up for her,” the insider revealed in October. “She was very respectful and totally loyal to Ben even after he walked out on her, but now all bets are off. She’s desperate to forget about Ben and get over the anguish he’s put her through and the best way she can do that is by having some no strings attached fun with hot young guys.”
