Is The Bachelorette on on Memorial Day?

Fret not, Bachelor Nation, because there will be a new episode of the hit ABC series on Monday, May 29! Rachel Lindsay’s journey to find love just started last week on the Season 13, and things are already getting competitive on her first group date.

The 32-year-old Dallas attorney is a huge basketball fan — she even played competitively when she was growing up — so, of course, she wants a man who can keep up with her on and off the court. She invited a handful of her new guys out for a little friendly game of basketball and she watched they all competed for her attention — and it didn’t take long for rivalries to form.

“I kind of feel like DeMario and I, we’re going to be kind of fighting for that attention or that time,” Eric, a 29-year-old personal trainer, said in his confessional.

“She needs a confident man, and I’m extremely confident,” DeMario told the cameras. “I’m confident like Michael Jordan in the finals, I’m confident like Tom Brady in the Super Bowl — I’m straight up a born winner.”

DeMario seems like he’s gunning for Rachel’s heart — even though he didn’t formally apply for the show! A close friend of his revealed to Life & Style said that the executive recruiter was recruited for the show when a producer spotted him at a Chipotle and made him an offer.

“He didn’t apply. It came out of nowhere for him,” DeMario’s friend told Life & Style. “He was like, ‘Cool. Sounds like a great opportunity,'”

But even though DeMario wasn’t looking to join the show as one of Rachel’s 31 contestants, his friend said that they’ll probably make a good couple — especially since they can bond over their mutual love of sports.

Be sure to catch the next episode of The Bachelorette, airing Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
