Is Ryan Edwards From ‘Teen Mom’ Sober? Depends Who You Ask…
Is Ryan Edwards sober? That's the question Teen Mom OG fans are asking after the reality star reportedly failed a drug test and got arrested (again) — all while his wife Mackenzie Standifer is pregnant with their first child. Despite his on and off air struggles, the people in Ryan's life are very divided on whether or not the 30-year-old is clean.
If you ask Mackenzie, everything is fine when it comes to Ryan and his sobriety. That failed drug test? Fake news. His recent arrest? A formality. "Possession of heroin was the original charge from April, before he went to rehab," she told Radar Online last month. "Part of his case was he had to be booked, everything is fine." She also claimed he took and passed a drug test on March 27.
However, his baby mama Maci Bookout has a very different opinion about Ryan's current situation. On Monday night's episode, she told her mom she didn't think this was the best time for him to be having another child. "I feel like if this don't do the trick then absolutely nothing will," she said of his sobriety before revealing that he had yet to take his required drug test. "I mean, he's not clean. He's not. That's just it. He's not." Interesting…
And while he may be clean from drugs, he's seemingly still drinking. Cameras caught Ryan at his wedding taking a shot before walking down the aisle on a February episode of the reality docu-series. Combined with his recent arrest, it's no surprise Maci was granted a protective order against Ryan last month.
Ryan's sobriety will be addressed once and for all in the upcoming Teen Mom OG reunion, which will air on Monday, April 16. "There have been major concerns about Ryan's sobriety," a source told Us Weekly. "At the upcoming reunion, his drug addiction is a major subject. Specifically, Ryan needed more inpatient treatment, longer than what he previously got."
