Josiah Duggar Reveals He Turned Down His Dad’s Renovated Property Because It Was ‘Too Big’
Watch out, Jana Duggar! There’s another family member coming for your interior decorating crown. In a new Instagram post, Josiah Duggar‘s wife, Lauren Swanson, gave fans a glimpse into their home. After showing off their living room over Christmas and during a game night with Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, the young couple finally got around highlighting another room in their house. “Just finished decorating our guest room. Loved how it turned out!” Josiah, 22, and Lauren, 19, wrote on the social media site, posting a couple photos of the beautiful space. Fans were quick to shower the post with compliments, asking Lauren questions about where she got her decor and lauding her as the next Joanna Gaines. But amidst the compliments and shopping recommendations, another interaction caught our eye. When one fan asked where the couple was living, they revealed that it wasn’t in one of Jim Bob Duggar‘s homes. They’d actually decided to rent because the house the family patriarch was renovating was “much too big” for them.

“Are you living in that huge house your dad is renovating?” the fan asked. Josiah and Lauren responded, “No, we thought that house was much too big for us. So, we are renting instead.” From any other reality stars, we probably wouldn’t think anything of that comment. But coming from the Duggars, well, we can’t help but read into it. After all, the family typically seems to eschew renting in favor of buying properties outright. And with so much real estate in the family, it seems strange that they’d be renting instead. But what we really can’t help but wonder is why they’d think that the house is “much too big.” Aren’t they going to need plenty of bedrooms for however many children god gives them?
In November, reports indicated that the couple had been trying to get pregnant “since their wedding night.” As of the end of January, though, no announcement has come — and there haven’t been any potential baby bump sightings in a while. So what’s going on? Is this couple pulling a Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo and taking some time for themselves as a couple before they start their family? They’ve already headed out on one spontaneous married adventure — and we’re sure there is plenty more to come.
