Half a year after her split, model Irina Shayk is finally opening up about what her post-Bradley Cooper life is like. During a rare interview with British Vogue published Monday, January 27, the star admitted that “life without B is new ground.” Before the one-time couple went public with their relationship in spring 2015, she was an international model strutting her stuff on the runway. Now, she’s still doing that — but she’s also a single mom to daughter Lea  De Seine Shayk Cooper.

Though Irina, 34, is grateful for the love she and Bradley, 45, shared, she revealed that parenting without him is a learning curve. “It’s hard to find a balance between being a single mom and being a working woman and provider,” she said. “Trust me, there are days I wake up and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I don’t know what to do, I’m falling apart.'”

That said, she wouldn’t change what happened. “I think in all good relationships you bring your best and your worst – it’s just the nature of a human being,” she explained. “I think we’ve been very lucky to experience what we had with each other. … Two great people don’t have to make a good couple.”

Though she’s previously shared she’s open to getting married one day, she did seem wary of future relationships. “I have a strong personality and I definitely know what I want, and I think some men are scared of that,” she said. “If somebody’s out of my life, they’re out of my life and I really cut all the ties, you know? I think some people are really scared of this coldness. I also think not many people know that underneath this there’s a nice, sweet person who cries in interviews.”

But the star isn’t going through everything alone. Friends like Inga Rubenstein have her back. In December 2019, the model even joked on Instagram that she and her pal were tying the knot. “Newlywed,” she captioned a photo of them together as she posed in a short, white dress. “Congrats!” one fan wrote playfully. “It will be my third one,” Inga teased back. “Hope it will last.”
